<p>Ellington ANGB is 17 miles southeast of Houston and adjacent to City of Houston Airport. The facility was formerly an Air Force Base. The 147th FG Texas ANG operates the F-16A/B ADF, while also resident are an Army National Guard facility and a US Coast Guard station. In addition, NASA operates the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center nearby with a large number of aircraft stationed at Ellington. The base is named for Lieutenant Eric L. Ellington, a pioneer pilot killed in November 1913.
